i•;. The quantities of meat shipped from New Zealand during the "period from October-1, .1936, to Februaryvls,l937,
with the figures for the corresponding period last year in parentheses, are reported as follows by the New Zealand. Meat Producers' Board:—
Chilled beef, G7.030 quarters (43,232); Crozen beef, 38,048 qu'aiters (69,548); mutton, 382,206 carcasses (496,410); lamb, 2,162,938 carcasses (2,326,743); pork, 245,101 carcasses (248,720); boneless beef,'48,332-bags (54,961).. Killings for export during the same period were:—

Compared" with last week's .quotations, Down lamb, 28-361b, id per 11> lower; 36-421b 3-8 d per lb lower; crossbred lambs, id per lb. lower; second quality lamb, l-8d per lb lower; wethers, under 481b l-8d .per lb'higher, 56----721b l-8d per .'lb'lower;-ewes, under 481b l-8d per," lb , lower. Others unchanged. The lamb market on- the spot is weaker all round and prices da not "appear to have reached bottom, The mutton market continues firm.
