With three wickets down for 177 runs Manawatu's chances ofja big first innings total in the Hawke Cup match against Hawke's Bay (challengers) on Saturday vanished when H. E. Reaney took six wickets on end for an addition to Manawatu's' score of only 29 runs. At stumps Hawke's Bay had lost one wicket for 8 runs.
