When stumps were drawn at 5.10 p.m. the holders (Manawatu) had made 38" runs without .loss in reply to Hawke's Bay's 171. Lambert did best with the bat for.Hawke's Bay, and Pritchard registered the best bowling -figures for Manawatu.
