Mines are reported, particularly by French ships, to have been freely sown off the Spanish coasts, including Majorca. The French Navy has arranged to begin mine-sweeping operations.
(Received February 27, 9 a.m.) , PERPIGNAN, February 26. Tugs successfully towed the Llandovery Castle to the quayside at Port Vendres. Divers found a gaping hole in the bows, about 18 feet long, and it is impossible for. the vessel to proceed to Marseilles until temporary repairs are effected.
