PETONE SWIMMING CLUB
In spite of the threatening weather there was a good muster of club members at the weekly meeting of the Petone Amateur Swimming and Lifesaving Club on Thursday evening-and some, good swimming, resulted. The water-polo match, although played in the dark, was a good game to watch, Hataitai C winning from Petone C by 2 goals to nil. Mr. W. Look was referee. Results were as follows: —
50 yards (ladies). —Ann Parr 1, Violet-Kerse 2, Betty Strang 3. Time, 35sec.
50 yards intermediate (boys).—J. Dugan and J. May 1 (equal), L. Boswell 3. Time, 33 l-3sec.
66 2-3 yards breaststroke—R. Rogers 1, Betty Strang 2, W. Patient 3. Time, lmin 9sec.
Dive.—R. Clelandl, Betty Strang 2, J. Duffy 3. . : Relay.—R. Cleland, 7. Dugan, and J. May. 1; Misses V. Kerse, B. Strang, A. Parr, 2.
Mr. H. L. Chisholm, who was until recently a member of the literary staff of the "Dominion," left for Melbourne by the Marama today.
