INCREASED WAGES

From information received from the Department of Trade by the British Trade Commissioner in New Zealand it would appear that the changes reported in the eleven completed months of 1936 have resulted in a net increase of about £422,000 per week in the full-time rates of wages of 3,520,000 British workpeople. In the corresponding eleven months of 1935, there were net increases of £174,775 in the weekly full-time wages of 2,207,300 workpeople.
