WELLINGTON CLUB

Good progress has been made in the Wellington Bowling Club's champion pairs competition, the semi-final stage being reached. A recent close game was that played between A. Fowler and J. Porteous (s) and J. O'Gorman and D. O'Neill (s), in which the latterpair had a two-point win. O'Gorman gave his skip x excellent support. , B. Thomson and T. H. Meadows (s) had a similar narrow win against H. Bishop and S. Christie (s), good play being shown on both sides. J. C. E. Turner and A. Duff (s) had a win by 21-18 against W. Waddel and S. Potter (s). In the semi-final game O'Neill meets Meadows and Duff plays Porteous.

In the semi-final of the champion rinks competition F. Ross meets J. O'Donnell in A section and J. Newson in B section.

The final game in the club's junior singles championship was won by C. J. Cooper, the runner-up being Bruce Thomson.
