PIONEER CLUB ENTERTAINS
Another very pleasant reception took place at the Pioneer Club in the morning when the president, Miss Amy Kane, and the members gave a tea party for the wives of the visiting B.M.A. delgates and a number of local doctors' wives. They were welcomed by Miss Kane; who made a short speech to which Mrs. T. D. M. Stout replied. Lady Spriggs was present. The Pioneer Club is noted for the beautiful flowers with which the rooms are always decorated, and yesterday morning they were particularly lovely. There were deep pink and mauve hydrangeas in brass and pottery bowls, also charmingly arranged pink and mauve asters and love-in-the-mist. Tea was served by members of the committee, home-made cakes and savouries being handed round. Drives had been arranged for some of the visitors, with tea at the club to conclude the morning, but as the weather was not pleasant enough to show Wellington at its best.many spent the whole time in the comfortable and cheery atmosphere of the clubrooms.
