NAPIER WOOL SALE

BRADFORD COMPETING

Bradford keenly competed at the Napier sale. Buyers' limits were inelastic. . . Coarse wools were keenly in demand as against fine wools, competition being particularly strong for any lines showing !the Lincoln type. Coarse wools were down lid on the January sale, fine easily 3d down, and other sorts down as much as. 3d. However, these prices were better than those anticipated, being the equal of or slightly better than, those at Wellington, and in consequence growers were prepared to meet the market, which resulted in good clearances. Top price for the sale was 18id for a line of Lincoln, while best fleece wools made 18d. ■ Hoggets made to 17jd, good necks to loid, pieces 14Jd, bellies 13d, locks 6d to9d, and-crutch-ings 12Jd. . ...
