OBITUARY

ADJUTANT HARRY, GRATTAN

LONDON, February 23,

The Salvation Army has received news from.Shanghai of the death from smallpox of Adjutant Harry Grattan, whose brother George is a Salvation Army officer in New Zealand.

The late Adjutant Grattan had about twelve years' service with the Salvation Army. About two and a half years ago, after serving in the British field, he was transferred to Tokio, and about nine months ago he proceeded to Shanghai, where he was general. secretary to the provincial commander. He was 32 years of age, and is survived by his widow and one child. His brother, Lieutenant-Colonel George Grattan, is chief secretary to the Salvation Army in New Zealand, and is stationed in Wellington.
