AFFRAY WITH CONSTABLE
An allegation that he had been kicked on the shins by: a constable, and lhat his arm had. been twisted behind his back so severely that he could not work for a week was made by Walter Percival Pine, a waterside worker, aged 56, in the Magistrate's Court yesterday. The constable admitted that he had applied a light hammer lock when the defendant refused to be searched, ■but denied the .shin-kicking. Mr. E. D Mosley, S.M., who was on the bench, said that he thought it very unlikely that a:constable would kick a man on •the shihsin an open street. Pine-was. charged .with using indecent language tc a constable in Tory Street on, February 15." Pine said that when he ywas waiting for a friend_ a constable came' along and • told him to move ort. Mr. Mosley .said that the language was hot very bad. He had heard the same'thing-said in the streets a hundred times.-\ ,
