The provincial elections produced remarkable and amusing results, showing the solidity of the Congress Party, especially in the United Provinces. In two constituencies Congress Party candidates have five-figure totals and their opponents nil. In Lahore a returning officer had to announce the success of a candidate whom later, as a Magistrate, he tried for a bank fraud. A tie at Assam was decided on the toss of a coin. •
A Sikh candidate defeated his own father at Ambala. .
