JAPANESE AND SOVIET TROOPS

REPORT IN MOSCOW

(Received February 19, 1 p.m.) MOSCOW, February 18. It is officially reported that 500 Japanese armed with eighteen machineguns attacked 35 Soviet border guards near Lake Khanka. The, Soviet troops held off the attackers for more than twenty hours. The casualties are not stated.
