WILL TEST NEW YACHT

NEW YORK, February 17.

Mr. Chandler Hovey, Boston banker, has purchased from Mr. Harold Vanderbilt the yacht Rainbow, the 1934 America's Cup defender, and announced that he will race against Mr. Vanderbilt's ne-w yacht Ranger for the right to defend the cup.

The move has been greeted with rejoicing by the cup committee of . the New York Yacht Club, which has hitherto been worried owing to the lack of a worthy oppouent to tune up and test, the Ranger.
