The/motion picture-version of Barry Benefleld's best-selling novel, "Valiantis the Word for Carrie," brings to' the.' screen for the first time Miss Gladys George, the present-day favourite among New York's dramatic actresses. Miss George;, has. been a prominent figure on the American stage for. some years, but did not attract the attention of Hollywood as a likely screen star until she.established.a record on Broadway by appearingin .700 successive performances of "Personal. Appearance." She is an actress of great charm and ability and a great .future is predicted for her in motion pictures. In "Valiant is the Word for Carrie" Miss George plays the title role. It is a story of Carrie Snyder, a ..woman frowned. upon by "respectable" residents of a small Louisiana town.
