DAMAGES AWARDED

Thomas Harris, a wharf labourer, who was injured by falilng down a hole in the bilge of the Narbada on May 19 last, was awarded £420 damages by a jury in the Supreme Court yesterday afternoon against the Union Steam Ship Co., Ltd. The vessel was unloading at Wellington.

Mr. Justice Johnston presided. Mr. O. C. Mazengarb appeared for the plaintiff, and Mr. C. G. White, with him Mr. D. W. Virtue, for the defendant -company.
