WORKERS' CONFERENCE

Immediately after the Easter conference of the Labour Party; another conference, with the object of establishing a federation of industrial organisations in New Zealand, is to be held in Wellington. Invitations have been sent to all workers' organisations in a circular bearing the signatures of Mr, L. Mcllvride, secretary of the New Zealand Union of Railwaymen, Mr. A. Cook, secretary of the New Zealand Workers' Union, and Mr. J. Roberts, secretary of the New Zealand Waterside Workers' Union. The circular states that the movement has been instigated by communications which these three organisations have received requesting that they convene such a conference. It is proposed that the organisation be named the New Zealand Federation of Labour. The conference will open on April 2.
