THE FIFTH TEST

(To the Editor.)

Sir,—Will the approach of 'the fifth and final cricket Test in Australia, I write fc|r the purpose of opening up the question as to whether it would be possible for the Broadcasting Board to arrange for a ball-to-ball broadcast of the match from 6 o'clock (New Zealand time) until stumps each evening. By doing this the present 5.30 p.m. to 6 p.m. broadcast could be discontinued and the children's hour not interfered with. Whilst appreciating the fact that broadcasts such as the one asked for are expensive, I feel sure that it is due to those paying licence fees to receive something out of the ordinary occasionally. If the board does as suggested it will earn the gratitude of practically every radio listener in New Zealand.— I am, etc., , .'
