M. K. MILLINERY'S YEAR
Accounts of M. K. Millinery, Ltd., Auckland, for the year ended December 31, 1936, show, a net proht of £6385 before setting aside a sum of £1939 for income tax and providing, for other contingencies. Business has been in operation since 1929, but the public company has been in existence only since July 3, 1935. With £287 brought forward there is £6672 available for distribution. An interim dividend of 10 per cent, on the 20.000 fully-paid shares paid in July, 1936, absorbed £2000. Directors recommend a final dividend of 8 per cent, on the 20,000 fully-paid shares and 5000 shares paid to 10s, requiring £2000; and the transfer to reserve of £500, leaving a carry-forward of £232. During the year the company's issued capital was increased to £30,000 by the issue of a further 10,000 shares which have been called.to 10s. .The directors state that it is not likely that any further calls will be made for the ensuing year. The turnover for the period was £87,386, and indications point to this amount being exceeded in the present ■■year.
