ESPERANTO CLUB

• The weekly meeting or the We^ng; ton Esperanto" Club " took 'Place-lart Monday evening, iiv Esperanto Hall, Nathan's Buildings, .Grey, Street. Mr. Bertram" Potts- presided''over a large attendance. It was announced that the club had- sent: greetings during the previous week to Esperanto 'clubs in Alblnia, Gibraltar. Dutch Indies, and the-Azores. Correspondence was received from' Esperanto clubs and individuall^sperantists in England, Poland, U.S:S.R.; Belgium, Portugal, Germany, and Spain.. Mrs. Fairweather, who had- returned from a holiday in the north, brought..'greetings-, from...the Auckland Esperanto Club. ■After the enrolment of new members, classes were arranged under the tuition of experienced teachers satisfactory progress reported. Instead of the usual programme, a supper- and dance took place. Mr. Frank Bailey was master of ceremonies. Music was brightly rendered by Mr. T. Hmdle (piano), Mr. Desmond Walshe (violin), Mr. W. Thompson (banjo), of the Troubadours, and Mrs. Winnie McLoughan, of the Ladies' Dance. Band. The extra was capably provided by Mr. J. W. O'Neill. Members were reminded that the club commenced at 7.45 p.m. instead of 8 o'clock. The • programme next- week will be presented by Mr. Joseph Thomas. ■
