CARTERTON SALE
Wright, Stephenson, and Co., Ltd., report that a good yarding of sheep, cattle, and pigs came forward at the Carterton sale. There was a large attendance of buyers and all classes of stock sold well. Prices were as follows: —Sheep: Woolly wether lambs, 13s 3d to 15s; woolly ewe lambs, 17s to 245; small ewe lambs, 11s 9d to 13s; b.f. lambs, 17s Id to 19s 2d; small b.f. lambs, 12s to 13s Id; m.s. lambs (small), 8s 3d to 9s Id; fat ewes, 18s 6d to 19s 3d; s.m. ewes 21s 5d to 21s 9d; medium b.f. lambs, 15s 9d to 16s 8d; fat lambs, 25s 6d to 27s 4d. Cattle: Springing cows, £5 to £5 10s; heifer calves, to £2 6s; fat cows, £5 to £6 10s; forward cows, £3 to £4 10s; store cows, 37s 6d to £2 15s; cull cows, to 255; cows and calves, £3 12s 6d to £4; fat heifers, to £5 12s 6d; bulls, £3 to £5 10s. Pigs: Weaners (good), 16s to 17s 6d; medium, 13s to 15s 6d; small, 9s to 12s; slips, to 19s 6d; store pigs, 20s to 235; light porkers, 25s to 28s 6d; porkers, 30s to 40s; baconers, £2 10 to £3 4s; sows with litters, £3 to £5 11s; Berkshire boars, £2 to £3.
