For the season the increase is 2353 tons. Of the cheese shipped last month 67 per cent, was white and 33 per cent, was coloured. Australian shipments of butter to the United Kingdom for the season were 37,150 tons, against 51,608 tons for the corresponding period of last season. , Cheese Shipped from Australia for the season was 3411 tons, or 223 tons less than last season. London prices for butter and cheese during January ranged from 99s down to 89s per cwt for butter and 58s to 51s for white and coloured cheese. Prices quoted for New Zealand salt butter and white cheese during February to Saturday last have been as follows: — Butter. Cheese. Per cwt. Per cwt.. Stocks of New Zealand cheese in New Zealand and afloat as at February 1 last amounted to 32,800 tons, or 800 more than as at February 1, 1936.
