Golden Dawn, Owharoa, reports for the fortnight ended February 6:—No. 3 level: Drive west on reef going off drive north into westwall has been driven 15ft. The reef averages 4in wide, value £4 Is 3d a ton. We are in a splendid class of country and if No. 2 reef keeps its proper course we should cut the junction at any time. Stoping on reef west off No. 1 reef. Reef averages 15in, value £1 6s lid a ton. Stopes on westwall branch reef south averages lOin -wide, value £2 18s a ton. Bottom intermediate level: Stopes on westwall branch reef south averages 18in wide, value 8s 2d a ton. Stopes on westwall branch reef north averages 24in. value £1 Os 8d a ton. Stopes on westwall branch reef north end block averages 19in wide, value £3 11s 9d n ton. Under hand stopes on westwall branch reef south averages lOin wide, value £1 3s 3d a ton. Under hand stopes on No. 1 reef north of rise averages 2ft wide, value 11s a ton. Since above report was written the superintendent has advised a new development at lower intermediate level on branch reef going south-west off west branch of No. 1 reef north end of block, which is 18in wide, and assays £15 6s 9d a ton (based on gold £4 per oz).
