AUCKLAND, February 16.

Miss Jean Batten sailed for Sydney by the Awatea, taking her aeroplane with her. She will fly extensively in Australia. - Interviewed before sailing, she said New Zealand's recognition of her flight had been wonderful and she had had a wonderful time.

Lady Haig, widow of the famous soldier, also left for Sydney on the Awatea.
