I An increase? of more than 6000 tons In the amounfr -of coal exported by rail from Grevjmouth is shown in the returns issued^by the Railway Department for the flour weeks ended January 30, by cornjparison with the figures for the corresponding period of last year. During "O.ie period reviewed this ,v?ar, 14,848 tOK:s were exported; in the ' corresponding]? period of last year the total was 8717 ' tons. Timber exports ;this year totalled 1,937.010 superficial feet, and the .{total for the four weeks 'last year wa5U1,790,401 superficial feet.
