BOY INJURED

KNOCKED OFF BICYCLE

Frank White, aged 10 years, N a son of the manager of. the. Bank of New Zealand at Lower Hutt,- was knocked off his bicycle on the main road j.ust south of the Taita Gorge at 9 a.m. today. The boy,-with a companion,-.was riding- towards Upper- Hutt when, hewas struck by a car travelling in.the' same direction. He received a severe cut on the head and bruises; and is suffering from shock. He was remcwed to his home in Knight's Road, Lower Hutt....

The car, which: had just: previously been in collision with a lorry, swerved to the left and struck the boy. In an endeavour to avoid further injuries to the boy the car was turned to the right and ran into ■ a ditch upside down. None of the five occupants of the car—three ladies and two gentle-men—-was injured, although all were severely shaken. .The car was damaged and the bicycle badly smashed. ■
