ROAD TO VALENCIA

MADRID CUT OFF ADVANCES BY REBELS (Received February 10, 11.40 a.m.) SALAMANCA, February 9. The insurgents claim to have cut the Madrid-Valencia road. This does not mean the isolation of Madrid, as a secondary road is still in the Government's hands. Rebel warships captured three Government destroyers in Malaga Harbour. The troops secured 10,000,000 cartridges, an aeroplane, two tanks, and ten field guns. The rebel fleet has trained its guns on Motril, the next point, along the coast on which Colonel Villabas' loyalist troops .are entrenching. Rebel aeroplanes dropped leaflets on Almeria recommending the town to surrender.
