THE FINAL TEST
NEW ZEALAND INTEREST SYDNEY, February 9. Dr. T. F. Ryan, who returned from New Zealand today, told a "Sun" interviewer that New Zealanders were extremely enthusiastic over the cricket Test and there was a proposal for chartering the idle Monowai to convey at least 500 passengers to Melbourne for the final Test, the vessel to be used as a hotel during the match. An official of the Union Steam Ship Company, owners of the Monowai, stated this morning that the company was not aware of any proposal such as suggested in the above cablegram. MATCH AT NEWCASTLE SYDNEY, February 9. The South Australian Sheffield Shield team en route to Queensland played a one-day match at Newcastle today. They dismissed Newcastle for 115 (Grimmett five for 28). South Australia scored 341 for nine wickets (Bradman 78, Badcock 78, Richardson 57 not out). O'REILLY :OT AVAILABLE SYDNEY, February 9. W. J. O'Reilly is unavailable for the New South Wales cricket team to play England. Chilvers will replace him.
