PETONE CLUB'S MEETING
There was a moderate a-rsndance at McKcnzie Baths last evening for the weekly competitions of the • Petone Amateur Swimming and Life-saving Club. The evening was very chilly. The club events were keenly contested and finishes were very close. ■ The water polo match, Petone B v. Wellington B, resulted in an easy win for Petone by 5 goals to 1. May, Dugan, J. Cleland, and Band were the scorers for Petone and McLean scored for Wellington. Mr. W. Bousfield was the referee.
Results of the other events were as follows:—6G 2-3 yards free style (ladies): Betty Strang 1, Violet Kerse 2 Time, 56 4-ssec. 50 yards intermediate (boys): T. Binnie 1, J. May 2, J. Dugan 3. Time, 37sec. 66 2-3 yards senior men's: J. Dugan 1, J. ClelatPi 2, R. McLeod 3. Time, 49 2-ssec. 6S 2-3 yards open breaststroke handicap: J Cleland 1, W. Patient 2, R. Driscoll 3. Time, 16 l-ssec. Dive: J. Duffy 1, B. Strong 2, R. Cleland 3. Relay race: J, Cleland's team 1, W. Patient's team 2, Miss B. Strong's team 3. ;,
