MARC CONNELLY'S FAITH.
After eighteen months in Hollywood, Marc Connelly, the author of "The Green Pastures," was glad to breathe the air of the London stage when he returned there for his production of Geoffrey Kerr's comedy, "Till the Cows Come Home." Mr. Connelly was in Hollywood in connection with the filming of his famous play, which was made in eight weeks, and also worked for, months on Pearl Buck's "The Good Earth.'V a wonderful film starring Paul Muni and Luise Rainer1 (the lovely Viennese actress who is the Anna Held of "The Great Ziegfeld"), who made her first. Hollywood appearance in the film "Escapade," with William Powell. How Mr. Connelly came to be interested in "Till the Cows Come Home" (his first stage venture), makes an interesting story. When in London on hob'day, Mr. Kerr asked him to read the script; within a few hours the famous author had decided .to produce it himself. Leslie Banks played the leading role in the piece; he, too; is making a name for himself as a screen actor, as witness his' fine work 'in "Sanders of the River" and "The Three Maxims."
