SYNOPSIS OF LAST 24 HOURS.
The secondary depression which was, crossing New Zealand- yesterday lias moved - relatively slowly and this.morning its northern extremity is still across the southern part' of-the North Island. An anticyclone still covers'most of the Tasman .Sen, but .a fresh depression In tha south Tasman is approaching the southern part, of the South Island. Winds have been,modorato generally,' but' strong .nt times in some exposed positions. Easterlies prevailed in the far north.yesterday, and clsewhere-winds were mainly between west and north.- ■- A change to southerly occurred in the far-,-south.. yesterday morning, and by this morning had extended over the whole Dominion.-' Except for.some rain In the extreme south, flue ' weather- prevailed generally yesterday, but the sky became overcast during last night' in eastern ..districts In and south of Cook Strait, and rain has stnro fallen in scattered places. This morning it js fair to fine In western districts, but mainly overcast with -scattered mist -and r,ain. at places in eastern districts. - ' '. ' "'.'." . :
