MR. JOHN WARD

INVERCARGILL, This Day,
The death is announced of Mr. John Ward, proprietor of the weekly paper "Southern Cross," aged 81. In his younger days he was a sub-editor of Hie "News" and "Times." He was a prominent Oddfellow and held many office*.
