Having been unsuccessful in obtaining the use of the Johnsonyille ground, the Johnsonville.: Returned ■:• Soldiers' Association auxiliary is holding its sports .meeting, which had to be postponed twice on account of wet weather, at Hataitai Park on Saturday afternoon; The entries received for this meeting are the1 largest for some time in Wellington, and-, although there will be a team representing the province against Canterbury at Christchurch on the same day, there will be some good talent taking part, including A. R. Wilson, one-mile champion, and Miss A. Gibbs, women's sprint-cham-pion, neither of whom was available for. the trip to Christchurch. The programme is a long and varied one, and a.start is ;to be :made with, the-meet-ing, at 2 p.m. During the afternoon selections are to be given by the Wei* lington Caledonian Society's Pipe" Band, and there is also to be an exhft bition of Highland dancing.
