A WELCOME TURN

IN FORTUNE'S WHEEL

(By Telegraph—Press Association.)

CHRISTCHURCH, February 2,

Mr. A. R. Roper, of Kirwee, an employee of the Malvern County Council, was the winner of the £2000 prize in the "Wheel of Fortune" art union. Mr. Roper is a young married man with two children—twins aged 5. He said this evening he intends to put the money in the bank and leave it there. He will stay in his present position with the county council, shovelling shingle, as he has for the last 12 years.

Mr. Roper said he had purchased tickets in practically all the art unions. The money, he said, was very welcome.
