AIR FORCE MILITARY BAND

The first annual meeting of the New Zealand Air Force Military Band was held on Tuesday evening in the R.S.A. Building, Flying Officer G. Ai. Booth being elected to the chaix". • The financial statement, showing.a satisfactory position, was adopted, and' the. election of officers resulted as follows;— President Mr. Gavin Wallace; vice-president, Lieut.-Colonel R. •';. L. Evatt, V.D.; committee, Messrs. E. J. Harvie, V. Clark, and F. Redshaw; hon. secretary, Mr. W. E. Currie; hon. treasurer, Mr. S. J. Stevens; librarians, Lance-Corporals Tonks and Dunn; custodian, Mr. G. Hunter; N.C.O.'s, BandSergeant J. Mair and Corporals Branigan and Parr. Votes of thanks were passed to Flying Officer G. A. Booth for his work as musical director and to Mr. E. J. Harvie for his efforts in placing the band administration and finances on a sound basis.

The. meeting was. followed by a smoke concert, items being rendered by Messrs*. HarisonGook and Austin Blackie and a clarinet trio consisting of Musicians Hunter, Eedshaw, and Lance-Gorporal Dunn.
