The Liberal Party, while sympathising with the proposal for a popular front of groups opposed to the Government, rejects the suggestion of an electoral pact to share seats with other parties, in a letter from the chairman of the executive committee to Mr. Aldous Huxley, leader of the intellectual liberty groupi
The proposal for a popular front was made last October by a number- of well-known people, including ' Dr. Barnes, Bishop of Birmingham, Lord Horder, and Sir Norman Angell. Liberals propose, however, tha.t all who are opposed to the Government should undertake a co-operative platform campaign, urging the lower'ng of. trade barriers and the making of collective security a reality. • ■
