EXCURSION TO PICTON.
Another of the popular day excursions to Picton will be made by the Rangatira tomorrow. Leaving Wellington at 8 a.m., she will arrive in Picton about 10.30 a.m., about half the time being spent in sheltered water, Wellington Harbour at one end and Tory Channel at the other. The annual speed-boat regatta will be in progress and the principal event of the day, the Masport Speed-boat Cup race, has been scheduled for 1 p.m., so that passengers by the excursion will be able to witness this thrilling championship event. During the day there will be many other speedboat and outboard races. For those who do not wish to stay in Picton, a special train will run to Blenheim, leaving Picton Wharf after the arrival of the excursion steamer and arriving back before she leaves again for Wellington at 2.30 p.m. Launches will run to many of the beautiful bays on the other side of the Sound, and a threehour cruise round the Sound, including a view of the Masport Cup race, will be made by the s.s. Tuatea. The Rangatira will leave Picton at 2.30 p.m.. and should arrive in Wcllinglon shortly after 5 p.m.
