SURVEYING IN SHETLANDS

(British Official Wireless.) RUGBY, January 18 The Discovery Committee announces that the commanding officer of the Royal research ship Discovery II has reported that a survey party consisting of six officers and men, which was landed on King George Island, South Shetlands, is, missing. While there is some ground for apprehension, the commanding officer still hopes to find the party in the extensive search—in which H.M.S. Ajax and whaling vessels are assisting—now being made, The Discovery II is carrying out whaling research work. —
