A.S.R.S. CONFERENCE
! The 1937 biennial conference of dele- | gates of the Amalgamated Society of Railway Servants will begin on February 1, when a lengthy agenda on railway, industrial, and political affairs will be discussed. Following the conference, the executive council will sit in what will be the fifty-first year in the history of the society, which has a strength of 11.000 members. •In the recent Dominion-wide biennial election the following officers were elected to conference:—Messrs. F. W. Munn (Auckland), J. Elliott (Auckland), P. B. Gavan (Frankton Junction), G. Mouton (New Plymouth), A. G. Mackay (East Town), T. E. Slaughter (Palmerston' North), J. S. Berry (Ohakune Junction), J.; W. Morgan (Lyttelton),'R. "W. Alexander (Omihi), J.: W. Twomey (Addington), D; Cadigan (Dunedin), S. . W.; Gaspar (Hillside), J. H. Cameron (Gore), and E. C. Fraser <Dunedin). The following members werie elected to the executive council:—Messrs. Gavan, Morgan, Gaspar, Alexander, Fraser,-Elliott, and Mouton.- Mr.-E. J. Dash, president of the society, will preside over both meetings
