WATER FOR MAKARA COUNTY

A conference to discuss the supply of water to Ngahauranga, Tawa Plat; Porirua, and Titahi Bay is shortly to be held by the Makara County Council, the Wellington City Council, and the Wellington City and Suburban' Water Supply Board. A suggestion td this effect was received from the City Council by the Makara County Council at its meeting today, and approved of by the latter body, which decided that the representatives of the ridings concerned should attend the conference on its behalf. Meanwhile Councillor E. Windley and the county foreman are to investigate the possibility of obtaining water from sources within the county.
