CHRISTMAS RINKS

SECTION PLAY CONTINUED

Although heavy rain prevented play in the Wellington Bowling Centre's Christmas rinks tournament yesterday, the majority of the city greens were in good condition this morning and the Wellington, Lyall Bay, and Seatoun greens, which, were used, played well. A start was made at 9.30 and the fourth round was completed in good time. The fifth and sixth rounds are being played this afternoon.

In section A, Casey (Thorndon) and Gapes (Karori) led-their teams to victory again, registering their fourth wins. There was an excellent game in section B on the Wellington green between Watts (Victoria) and Neilson (Karori), the scores being equal on> four occasions. Neilson was two up when the last jack was thrown, and Tucker, the Victoria No. 3, carried" the kitty to secure the shot. Gilbert, the Karori No. 3, wicked him out with a beautiful shot and then drew another, for his side to' win 24-20. Munro (Thorndon) was the only skip to secure four wins.
