(By Telegraph—Press Association.)
CHRISTCHURCH, December 28,
Two children suspected of having contracted infantile paralysis were admitted to the Christchurch Hospital today, but. in.neither case has the diagnosis been positive. One case is from the inner area of the city, and the other is from. Redcliffs, near Sumner. In the meantime those in the households from which the children have come have been placed under quarantine.
The Medical Officer of Health, Dr. Fletcher Telford, said today that he had had no - trouble - with holidaymakers. Those who had wished to take children to Dunedin or its vicinity had been dissuaded, and others who had sought advice on camping itineraries had taken advice to keep away from big communities and to make a tour in the north of the island rather than the south.
All transport services have received many cancellations of reservations. Both the Union Company and the Railway Department report that their season would have been much busier but for cancellations. The city .tramways revenue has shown a marked decline, not all accountable to the unsettled weather.
(By Telegraph—Press Association.! CHRISTCHURCH,! This Day. Although there are three suspected cases of infantile paralysis in the Christchurch Hospital all were reported to be negative this morning.
