CRICKETING GENIUS
WOODFUL STILL HAS HOPE
CRITICS ANSWERED
(L'pited Press Association—By Electric Tel«graph—Copyright.) (Received December 28, 10.30 a.m.) LONDON, December 27. The former Australian Test cricket captain, W. M. Woodful, writing in. the "News of the World," says that his faith in Don Bradman as a cricketing genius is such that he does not regard Australia's position as hopeless. Alluding to the criticism of Bradman since the second Test, he says that such a reversal of public opinion is unfair and unjustified. It was to be expected that Bradman, who was untried in leadership, should make a few errors of judgment, but these were of a minor character and did not affect the trendy of the battle. He believes that Brad- N man will develop into a great leader, but experience can only be obtained on the field. Woodful describes the . talk about the team not pulling their weight under Bradman as nonsense,, but expresses a doubt whether the selector* have yet found Australia's best team.
