SOONG MAY REPLACE CHIANG

(Received December 28, 11 a.m.) NANKING, December 27. Twenty thousand persons demonstrated at the aerodrome today in celebration of General Chiang Kaishek's release when the War Minister, General Ho Ying-chin, read a message from Chiang saying that recent events had proved that the nation under a Republican organisation was a forceful State. Several persons who were kidnapped in Sianfu with General Chiang Kaishek have" now been released. These include Chiang Kai-shek's chief of staff and Vice-Minister of War. It is rumoured that Mr. T. V. Soong will shortly replace Chiang Kai-shek as President of the Executive Yuan.
