ANGLO-FRENCH NOTE TO POWERS

The London correspondent of the "New York Times" states that the British and French Governments have instructed their Ambassadors at Berlin, Rome, Moscow, and Lisbon, to present a joint Anglo-French Note informing the Powers that the Anglo-French entente views with anxiety the gradual transformation of the Spanish civil war into an international conflict for the advancement of opposing political principles. It adds that the British and French Governments are likely to request Herr Hitler soon lo stale his couuIry's economic needs in order to I avert, a suicidal plunge, and to offer aid on certain conditions.
