BADLY DAMAGED
MOTH TO BE DISMANTLED
Damage to the ■ Wellington Aero Club's Moth ZK-'AAS, which made a I forced landing at Cape Campbell through running out of petrol while flying above the clouds on Christmas Day, was severe enough to prevent the machine's being flown back to Rongotai, and two club mechanics will cross the Strait in a commercial aeroplane tomorrow and proceed to the wrecked Moth to dismantle it preparatory to having it shipped home. The machine is at present where it landed in a paddock near ,the lighthouse, and is some four miles from the nearest road. It will be taken to the lighthouse and shipped from; there. . ..s Squadron-Leader G. L. Stedman flew the Strait in a club machine yesterday and inspected the damaged aeroplane from the air. He stated today that it looked pretty badly damaged.
