WEDDINGS
CHEEVERS—BOWLER. The wedding was solemnised by the RevV H. E. K. Fry at St. James's Church, Lower Hutt, of Marjorie Isabelle, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. W. H. Bowler, Penrose Street, Lower Hutt, and John Joseph, son of Mr. and Mrs. | M. Cheevers, Wellington. The church looked decorative with bowls of blue and pink hydrangeas, sweetpeas and carnations. The bride was escorted by Mr. F. Nash. Her gown of ivory satin, cut on slender lines, had long tight-fitting sleeves pointed over the hands, and a pleated cowled neckline fastened with a diamante clip. The tulle veil was gathered into a halo coronet of orange blossom. A sheaf of Christmas lilies, roses and pink carnations was carried. Her bridesmaid, Miss Marie Fraser, of Wellington, wore a frock of floral georgette in autumn shades on a parchment background, gathered to a flame taffetas sash at the waist, and fashioned with puff sleeves and cowl neckline. Her picture-hat was of parchment lace straw finished with a flame velvet bow. The bouquet was of roses to tone with her frock. The
