LOCAL WOOL SALES
GROWERS ADVISED
Wool growers have been officially notified by the Wellington Wool Brokers' Association that as sufficient wool for the February sale had reached brokers' stores on Wednesday last, December 23, catalogues were then closed. Wool received into stores after that date cannot be offered until a later date. . . I The aggregate catalogue to be subImitted at- the next sale, to be held in Wellington on January 11, will be in ithe following order:—
This will be the second Wellington sale of the 1936-37 series, and the first sale in the New Year. Since the last sale, held in Dunedin on December 2, nothing has happened to have affected the market one way or the other. Competition at Dunedin was extraordinarily keen, the main feature of the sale being Japanese competition, as it was in> the last Wellington sale. The demand was good for all descriptions of wool' in' which the ordinary crossbreds were prominent. New Zealand [mills paid high prices at Dunedin for the super and fine wools suitable for their requirements.
