UNWELCOME GUESTS
BEES ENTER HOUSE
CHRISTMAS DINNER HELD UP
(By Telegraph- I'ress Association.)
AUCKLAND, Tfiis Day.
Unwelcome guests descended on Mrs. E. Ramsay, of. Parnell, when she was cooking Christmas dinner yesterday and they were only ejected after a radio appeal had been broadcast. The visitors were bees which had swarmed under the eaves of the house and, attracted by appetising Christmas odours, made their way through the scrim and wallpaper and poured anto the kitchen. , In desperation Mrs. Ramsay telephoned from a neighbour's house to the broadcasting station and a few minutes later a man arrived with a sack but had to beat a retreat. Later Mr. F. Johnston, of Sandringham, an apiarist, arrived and with the aid of a smoke apparatus was able to capture the queen bee and carry the swarm off in a packing case. The Ramsay family were able to enjoy .their Christmas .dinner, the baby being the only member of the household to be stung.
