DUTIES MODIFIED
JAPAN OMITS WOOL
TOKIO, December 24.
The Tariff Commission has announced a schedule of modifications of duties, which the Diet will be asked to sanction, on 692 import articles, but it is stated that wool is specifically left in abeyance. The conspicuous omission of wool, which at present carries no duty, indicates that the Government contemplates making a levy in accordance with circumstances. ■
